A Very Special Thank You

I’m currently living my dream, and you helped me on my incredible journey to happiness!

I am grateful beyond words, but I will try:

For decades, I was unhappy and felt like I didn’t have a direction in life. In 2015, while working as a registered dietitian in Austin, Texas, I fell in love with aerial silks at Blue Lapis Light. Aerial combined my passions for physical fitness, creativity, art, and puzzle-solving, while helping me discover a need for self-expression that I hadn’t known before.

In 2017, I left behind my career (and many years of schooling) to pursue circus as a profession. Finding work and stable income was incredibly difficult, but you supported me and helped me find my way - my way to stable and fulfilling work, to touching my dreams, and to a happiness that I had not felt since I was a child.

In 2022, I auditioned for Cirque Eloize and told the casting director that I was so grateful just to reach that stage and be there in Montreal. It had been my dream to work for Eloize, 7 Fingers, and/or Cirque du Soleil since my formative circus years at Blue Lapis Light. I cried while telling her this, because my dream was coming true - 7 years after my first class at Blue Lapis Light, my dream was so close.

In 2023, the artistic director of Messi10 by Cirque du Soleil suddenly reached out to me and asked me if I was available to be one of the corde lisse specialists for their South American tour. I couldn’t believe it. I memorized that email from reading it so many times. Messi10 had the best rope act I had ever seen, and had the greatest artists that I had looked up to for so long.

I cried so many happy tears during that tour, because I was now living my dream. But I also got to reach for new dreams, traveling around Argentina, Antarctica, Colombia, and Peru, visiting the most amazing natural wonders of our world, and making incredible relationships.

Now, at 37 years old, I feel like I’m at the height of my career and health, and I can continue this path for many years to come. I have new dreams, to continue to explore the world and see the beauty and wonders of our world before the warming climate changes them forever. I want to continue to perform and spread joy to audiences, and inspire them to find their dreams and happiness as well.

My life has taken such an amazing turn and I am so happy and fulfilled. Thank you for your influence, your support, and believing in me.
